Four screens, all in the Menu: the world's chronicle, your own records, your alliance, and the card you get by tapping another survivor's base. Nothing here shows a number the game does not have. Where something is empty or not kept yet, the screen says why.
The chronicle
Menu → Chronicle is the world's feed: things that happened in the sector, written by the game itself. Entries read like "A survivor brought the first expedition home." or "Sector CS-0001 reached 3 survivors." Newest is at the top.
- World entries name nobody. It is always a survivor, never a player's name.
- They arrive up to an hour late, on purpose. The game looks over the world once an hour and writes down what has changed. An entry at the moment of a deed would tell everyone who was playing at that moment.
- A sector's size is announced at milestones: its 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 10th, 25th and 50th survivor, and so on up to the 1,000th.
- Opening the feed marks it read. The entries that were new keep a New marker for the rest of that visit. While the feed is closed, the Menu's Chronicle row shows N new, checked every 30 seconds.
- The top of the feed gives the real number of survivors in the world. The game is in a closed test and the world is small; the screen says so rather than show a bigger number. Test accounts are not counted.
Records
Menu → Records. Your rank, level and XP are at the top, then three sections.
Your bests
Only you see these. Five things are counted: structures, structure levels, troops, troop types and research done.
| Column | What it is |
|---|---|
| Now | What you have today. |
| Best | The highest it has ever been. |
| 30 days | How much it has changed over the last 30 days. Shown as a dash until the game has at least a day of your history to compare against. |
World firsts
Five firsts can be taken once each, by anyone in the world:
- the first plot taken in the world
- the first research completed
- the first vehicle built
- the first expedition brought home
- the first to reach a new rank tier
Each is shown either as taken, with the date, or as Still open. Firsts are recorded without names, so not even this screen says who took one. If the firsts cannot be read, the screen says so and shows none as open or taken.
Founder register
Founders are meant to be the survivors who played the closed test. The closed test has no end date yet, so nobody can be enrolled. The screen says so, with the number of survivors who would qualify today.
Alliances
Menu → Alliance. An alliance is a tag and a roster. Members see each other's name, role, rank and the day they joined. An alliance does not share sight, resources or defence, and being in one does not stop members raiding each other.
Founding one
| Field | Rule |
|---|---|
| Tag | 2 to 5 letters or digits, no spaces or punctuation. Stored in capitals. No two alliances share one. |
| Name | 3 to 40 characters. No two alliances share one. |
| Charter | Optional, up to 500 characters. Shown to members at the top of the alliance screen. |
The alliance screen shows how many members it has out of how many it can take, such as 4 of 60 members. A full alliance cannot take anyone else. A dissolved alliance's tag is not freed for someone else to take.
Joining one
- Apply. Search by the start of a tag or name and tap Apply. An officer or the leader then accepts or declines it.
- Be invited. Officers and the leader invite by tapping your base on the map and choosing Invite. The invitation appears in your alliance screen under Waiting on you, to accept or decline.
- Requests expire after 7 days, either way round. Whoever sent one can withdraw it before then.
- Declining an invitation stops that alliance inviting you again. You can still apply to it if you change your mind.
- You can be in one alliance at a time.
Roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Leader | Everything an officer can, plus: make a member an officer or an officer a member, remove officers, hand leadership to another member, and dissolve the alliance. |
| Officer | Invite, accept or decline applications, and remove members. Not other officers. |
| Member | Read the roster and the alliance's chronicle, and leave. |
- A leader must hand over before leaving. The one exception is a leader who is the last member: leaving then dissolves the alliance.
- Handing over makes the new leader leader and the old one an officer, in one step.
- An absent leader can be replaced. Once the leader has not logged in for 90 days, an officer may claim leadership: officers see Claim leadership on the leader's row of the roster. If it is too soon, the game says how many days are left. The old leader becomes an officer.
- Dissolving ends every membership at once and withdraws every pending request.
- An alliance can be reported: its tag, name and charter. Use Report this alliance at the foot of your own alliance's screen, or Report [TAG] under any search result. See reporting.
- If a moderator removes a charter, the alliance screen shows "This charter was removed by a moderator." in its place.
The alliance's chronicle
Your alliance screen has its own feed of what happened inside the alliance: who founded it, joined, left or was removed (and by whom), role changes, changes of leader, and a dissolution. Unlike the world feed, it names members, because only the alliance's own members can read it.
On the map
- The tag is worn in public. Every member of an alliance has its [TAG] in front of their name on the map, for everyone who can see their base.
- Your alliance-mates are drawn as allies: blue, a solid ring and a plus mark, the Ally row of the map's legend. You still only see their bases within your own sight.
- A raid outranks the alliance. An ally who is raiding you, or whom you are raiding, is drawn as an enemy until that raid is home.
Blocking
Tap any other survivor's base on the map to open their card. It shows their tag, name and rank, with Raid (when raids are open), Invite (when you are an officer or leader and they have no alliance), Block and Report this name.
- Block hides anything that player writes from you. Everyone else still sees it: a block is your own choice of what to read, not a punishment.
- Block also stops their alliance invitations to you, and their applications to an alliance you lead.
- They are not told. An invitation or application a block stops is refused with the same words as any other: "That player isn't taking invitations." or "That alliance isn't taking applications."
- Unblock from the same card.
Today players cannot write anything in the game: every chronicle entry, the world's and an alliance's, is written by the game itself. So a block takes nothing out of your feeds yet. What it does today is stop invitations and applications.
Reporting
A block only changes what you see. A report asks a moderator to look. You can report a player's name, from their card, or an alliance (its tag, name and charter), from the alliance screen or a search result.
- Two taps. Report … opens a short list of reasons, from spam and harassment to something else, and tapping a reason sends it.
- The answer is always the same: "Report sent. A moderator will look at it." That includes reporting the same thing twice, which counts once.
- The player you report is not told.
- You are told the decision. Once a moderator has looked, you get a notification, Your report was reviewed, saying either that they took action or that no action was needed. It never says what was done to the other player, or why.
If a moderator acts on something of yours
- A removed charter: the alliance screen shows "This charter was removed by a moderator." in its place, and the member who wrote it gets a notification, Your alliance charter was removed.
- A replaced name: your name becomes Renamed followed by six digits, and you get a notification, Your username was replaced. Your next name change is free. A name change normally costs 250 materials, from your profile, and one that fails costs nothing.
- To dispute a decision, yours or one on a report you made, write to support@war2050.com and say which one you mean.
The details
Tap one of these notifications (Your username was replaced, Your alliance charter was removed or Your report was reviewed) to open its details.
- For something of yours: what was done, for how long, why (in the moderator's own words), what started it (a report, or a moderator), that a person decided rather than an automated check, the rule it rests on with a link to the terms, when, and how to dispute it.
- For a report you made: what you reported, when, the decision, and how to dispute it. It never shows the reason or what happened to the other player.
- A replaced name has a Choose a new name (free) button, which opens your profile. There the change button says it is free until you use it.
- How moderation works in the details brings you to this section.
Block, Remove, Hand leadership, Claim leadership, Leave and Dissolve each need a second tap. The button changes to say what the second tap will do, such as Tap again to leave.
